Meet Caroline
Hi there and welcome to my blog! Just a tad about me... I'm a DIY enthusiast living in southern Maryland (southeast of DC). I've been obsessed with rescue/revitalize/DIY projects for the past five years now which is what this blog is all about...mostly. My other interests include child development (proud Mama, here), gardening (a true amateur), music (classical, please), and Jesus (my main man).
I love to come up with creative ways to take old, useless, or untouched pieces and transform them into something beautiful and functional! But I also want to inspire others to do the same with their own pieces.

I'm by no means an expert, but with a little courage and ingenuity, I'll do my best to revitalize furniture and decor, one piece at a time. I'm open to all suggestions and challenges so feel free to reach out!
Tip No. 1
For a “clean” look, which is essentially a smooth finish, you can use either a regular brush found at your local hardware store or a circular brush like Annie Sloan's. The main goal is to keep the brushstrokes smooth and along the grain of the wood.
How many coats of wax should I apply if my piece is going outside?

So I’ve read on other blogs that you shouldn’t put any wax on if the piece is going outside. I’m assuming this might have to do with the wax getting too hot out in the sun, but again, I have no idea. Right now, I have a rustic flag piece that is on my screened-in porch and it is not waxed. I’ll let you know if I experience any issues!
